In this episode I chat with best-selling author and acclaimed public speaker Dorie Clark (Smith College ℅ ‘97) about how she knew that running her own business was right for her and how mentorship guided her on her way to success.
Dorie shares about her unusual trajectory starting at Smith at a young age and working her way up to the New York Times Best-Sellers page. Dorie tells all about how to be a long-term thinker in a short-term world, the topic of her latest book. She discusses her time management strategies and how she dedicates her time depending on the season of her career.
If you have a hard time working with bosses and want to find a different path for your career, you’ll want to listen to this episode! Let Dorie and I know that you listened by posting on one of our Facebook Groups about what you learned from the episode.
This week on Conversation with Seven Sisters we hear from Dorie Clark who you may know as a multifaceted author, marketing expert, coach, and speaker. Dorie’s most recent book, The Long Game: How to be a long-term thinker in a short-term world, is all about how we can break past the fast paced nature of today’s work culture and stay focused on our long term growth goals. Dorie also wrote Stand Out, Reinventing You, and Entrepreneurial You.
Dorie attended Smith College at the young age of 16 and studied philosophy before attending Harvard Divinity School for a Masters of Theological Studies. She currently resides in Miami, Florida where she enjoys the sun and avoids the alligators.
